How much of your holiday shopping do you do online?
64I used to be the girl who waited until the last minute to do my holiday shopping. I would never look for sales on the hottest items until December 24th, I just never had the time. I tried going out at 4am on Black Friday a few time, but what I found was that i was just not in the holiday mood and would end up with numerous purchases for myself, and nothing for my loved ones for the holidays. When I discovered EBAY and other online stores like Overstock.com, I realized that I was Christmas shopping ALL WRONG!
In 2007, I did 100% of my shopping on-line, with increased deals with little to no shipping, 10-30% discounts on certain merchandise, free gift wrapping, extra free items when you order before such and such a day, and combined shipping on orders that otherwise would've cost much more. I found that I could search for the best price, compare prices, and even "bid" on my desired gifts and know that I was getting the most for my money. It was much more affordable, but also much more comfortable. I didn't have to get dressed, drive to expensive malls where indoubtly I would've bought something for myself in the process of waiting in rediculously long lines, and not to mention my trip to the food court. I guess you could say that even if I would've paid full price and shipping on each item I bought, I would've still saved money by not driving and eating at the food court.
Online shopping is quick and easy, and also solved my problem of a snooping husband who I never understood why he ALWAYS knew exactly what he was getting. It's because after I bought the gifts, I couldn't wrap them before he'd get home. I would think that I hid them well, and he'd find them and of course sneak a peek. Well, this year,he was 100% suprized when there was not 1 gift in the house until 2 days before Christmas (the day I asked for all the gifts to arrive). Each gift came pre-wrapped beautifully, and all I had to do was slap on a gift tag and throw it under the tree.
I would seriously reccommend online shopping. There are so many good wholesale sites where you can get discounts. Try EBAY, Overstock.com, Gifts.com, and Amazon just to name a few.
